POWER HORSE )The Horse with Horse Power!

So this is my 7-page preview of Power Horse. These pages are special because I rewrote the entire first issue and will redraw the entire comic.

I liked the way that most of the first attempt turned out, so I wanted to share them.

No stealing Power Horse, you stealing stealers!

Penciled page of Power Horse

This is a preview of a page from my Power Horse comic. It's taking awhile to get the first issue done, but I'm full steam ahead on the pencils. On this page, we see a lone horse watching the destruction of Citytonburg and being none too pleased, when his rider jumps on him and orders him to get a move on. It's time to save the city, and Decoy and Retribution Ranger are answering the call!  Stay tuned for more from Power Horse!

Power Horse unveiled!

Behold! Power Horse! The horse with HORSE POWER! Colored version soon to follow! As a reminder, this is the first place that anyone has seen Power Horse. That's because I created this character and theft will not be tolerated. Please respect my characters.

Storyboards for issue #1 in the works today. Then I am planning a full reboot of all Power Horse titles. I am calling this reboot The New 52 week lag project. Stay tuned for more Power Horse and more HORSE POWER!

Hellboy finds a pokeball.

Ok, my computer has officially gone rogue, so I didn't have all of the adobe capabilities that I normally would. Sorry for the rudimentary coloring job.

An old Psylocke drawing

Since there's no new art of mine to choose from, I dug up and old one. It's rare that I don't draw from a picture, and that bugs me, because I tend to finish drawings if they are conjured from my own imagination. Don't bother telling me about the problem with the proportion in the legs. I'm aware. If you can't see it, then yay for me.

Rockabilly Saraswati

Done with good ol' nib and ink well on vellum. This is the Hindu goddess Saraswati if she were rockabilly. 8" x 10"

An old photoshop morph I did for a class when we were learning about layer masks. Kind of sloppy when I look at what I can do now. You used to be cool, Milla Jovovich.

Shiloh - Charcoal

I did this for my wife's aunt for christmas. Her beagle passed last year and I thought it would be thoughtful. I didn't expect her to cry so much. I don't have access to the photo here at work, but I liked the reference picture quite a bit because she looks like she is smiling. This is the second time I've drawn a dog, and both times happened to be beagles. They're really fun to draw because the usually have such good variation in value in the fur on their backs. I have a black cat at home that I'm afraid to try to draw because she really has no difference in value. It would be quite a challenge.

Poison Ivy

Ivy    12 " x 16 " Graphite
I feel bad calling this my art because I copied it from a Terry Dodson sketch of a statue concept.

I did graph it out, so I was basically drafting his sketch. I would call it cheating.

I find it very difficult to sit down and just draw from my own mind most of the time. I can draw other people's characters without hesitation, but it's an exercise in frustration to try to draw an original.

I think this is because I have so many artists that I admire with vastly differing techniques that it has become jumbled for me, making it very challenging to have a style of my own. The ACEO's I've been posting are as close as it gets to freeform. It's still someone else's character, though.
